About Komunna
Built from community. Designed for what’s next.
Komunna is a community platform built from years of experience connecting people through information, opportunities, and local communities.
It was created by the team behind Pampanga and Pampanga Times, communities that have spent years helping people discover what is happening around them.
- 2008
Our journey began in 2008, when our Pampanga community started sharing local news, information, opportunities, and stories with people across the province. Over the years, it grew into a trusted online community that has shared thousands of updates with its followers.
- 2015
In 2015, we launched Pampanga Times, expanding our commitment to local journalism and community information.
- 2017
In 2017, we built Pampanga Jobs, a Facebook community that grew organically from zero to more than 50,000 members in less than five years—proof of how powerful communities can become when people come together around a shared need.
These experiences shaped Komunna.
We saw an opportunity to bring the things people already rely on from different online communities into one connected platform—while making the experience more organized, useful, and accessible.
What is Komunna?
The name Komunna is inspired by the Kapampangan expression “Ikong Muna”—you go first.
It represents a simple idea:
Put the community first.
It is a mindset of service, generosity, and participation—creating technology not only for what we can get from a community, but for what we can contribute to it.
Komunna also echoes the word community—because at its heart, that is what we are building.
A place where people can learn, discover, connect, participate, and experience new things.
One Community. Many Possibilities.
For the initial launch, Komunna brings together some of the things people look for every day:
- NewsDiscover what is happening in your community.
- JobsFind opportunities and connect with employers.
- Real EstateDiscover properties, spaces, and opportunities.
- BusinessesDiscover local businesses, products, services, and experiences.
But this is only the beginning.
Komunna is being designed as a platform that can continuously evolve with the needs of the communities it serves. New features, services, and ways to participate will be introduced as we grow.
We are starting with Pampanga, but the vision is bigger.
As Komunna grows, we hope to bring the same community-first experience to more places and more people.
