About the role
Job Title: AI Creative Video Editor
Company: Luma
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Setup: Remote
Salary: $1,500–$3,000 per month, depending on experience and performance, plus performance bonuses
Experience Level: Experienced professionals
Job Overview
Luma is hiring an experienced AI Creative Video Editor to create engaging, high-performing video advertisements using artificial intelligence, video editing, storytelling, and direct-response marketing techniques.
This remote position is ideal for a creative professional who can transform ideas into complete advertising campaigns, from concept development and scriptwriting to AI-generated visuals, video editing, and final production.
This is not a prompt engineering job. Luma is looking for someone who understands how effective advertising works and can combine AI video generation with strong creative judgment to produce content that captures attention, keeps viewers engaged, and encourages them to take action.
Candidates should have experience creating advertising content, developing creative concepts, writing compelling hooks, and producing polished videos using AI-powered creative tools.
Key Responsibilities
As an AI Creative Video Editor, you will collaborate with creative strategists, video editors, designers, and marketers to develop and produce advertising creatives for paid advertising campaigns.
Your responsibilities will include:
Creative concept development: Turn marketing objectives and ideas into compelling video ad concepts.
Scriptwriting and storytelling: Write engaging scripts, headlines, hooks, and storylines that capture attention.
AI video generation: Use AI-powered tools to generate realistic footage, product visuals, characters, environments, and stylized content.
Video editing and post-production: Edit footage, refine pacing, improve transitions, and deliver polished advertising videos.
Direct-response advertising: Create video ads designed to generate audience engagement, leads, sales, and other marketing results.
Audience retention: Structure videos to maintain viewer interest and encourage people to watch until the end.
Visual consistency: Maintain consistent characters, faces, products, lighting, and environments across multiple shots.
Quality control: Identify and correct AI-generated visual errors, unnatural movements, inconsistent details, and other production issues.
Creative testing and optimization: Use feedback and available advertising performance data to improve creative output.
Workflow improvement: Experiment with AI tools and production techniques to create better content efficiently.
AI Video and Creative Tools
Candidates may use a variety of AI video generation, image generation, and editing platforms, including:
AI video generation: Google Veo, Kling, Runway, Higgsfield, and Seedance.
AI image generation: Midjourney and Nano Banana.
AI writing and creative assistance: ChatGPT.
Video editing and post-production: Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and CapCut.
Experience with these specific platforms is helpful, but candidates are not required to use every tool listed. Luma prioritizes the quality of the final creative output, production skills, and the ability to select the right tools for each project.
Quality Expectations
The ideal candidate can produce realistic AI-generated videos that closely resemble professional live-action footage, as well as stylized and experimental visual content.
Expected production standards include:
Believable people, faces, hands, and body movements.
Consistent characters and product appearances across shots.
Realistic lighting, environments, and visual details.
Smooth editing, effective pacing, and coherent storytelling.
Minimal visible AI artifacts and generation errors.
High-quality 3D visuals, animations, cinematic sequences, surreal concepts, and AI-first creative experiments.
Beyond visual quality, candidates must understand the purpose behind each creative decision. Successful advertising requires more than attractive footage; it requires a clear concept, a strong message, and an understanding of what motivates viewers to act.
Who Should Apply?
This position is best suited for experienced AI video editors, creative video producers, advertising editors, and AI content creators who can independently manage the creative production process.
You may be a strong candidate if you can take a project from the initial idea to a finished advertisement, write effective scripts, produce polished visuals, and make creative decisions based on advertising objectives.
Applicants should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, receiving feedback, solving production challenges, and taking ownership of their work.
Who Should Not Apply?
This is not an entry-level AI content creation position.
The role may not be suitable for candidates who:
Have portfolios consisting mainly of unedited AI-generated clips.
Rely exclusively on prompting without understanding editing or storytelling.
Require detailed instructions for every creative decision.
Have little or no understanding of advertising and direct-response marketing.
Are unwilling to revise, test, and improve their work.
Salary, Benefits, and Work Arrangement
Luma offers the following compensation and working arrangements:
Monthly base salary: $1,500–$3,000, depending on experience and performance during the paid assessment.
Performance bonuses: Additional compensation based on the employer's performance bonus arrangement.
Remote work: Work remotely in a full-time position.
Real advertising campaigns: Create content for campaigns supported by advertising spend.
Performance insights: Access actual creative performance data to help inform improvements.
Creative collaboration: Work with creative strategists, editors, designers, and marketing professionals.
Creative freedom: Experiment with new AI tools, visual styles, and production workflows.
Professional development: Take on greater responsibility as the company's AI creative capabilities expand.
Hiring Process
The recruitment process consists of the following stages:
Application: Submit your application and portfolio.
Portfolio review: The hiring team evaluates your creative work and relevant experience.
Paid qualification test: Complete a practical assessment to demonstrate your skills. The test is paid regardless of whether you advance.
Interview: Discuss your experience, creative process, and approach to advertising.
Paid one-week trial: Demonstrate your ability to work with the team and produce creative deliverables.
Job offer: Successful candidates may receive an offer for the full-time remote position.
The company places greater emphasis on practical creative ability and portfolio quality than on interview performance alone.
How to Apply
Interested candidates should complete Luma's application form and submit a portfolio showcasing their strongest work.
Your portfolio is one of the most important parts of your application. Include examples that demonstrate your ability to develop creative concepts, write scripts, generate AI visuals, edit video advertisements, and deliver finished content.
If you can transform an idea into an advertisement that captures attention, maintains viewer interest, and encourages action, Luma wants to see your work.
Apply through the employer's official application form.
