PAMPANGA — A mega job fair in Pampanga brought thousands of job seekers together with employers offering 3,143 local and overseas job opportunities, with some applicants landing jobs on the spot.

Held October 8 at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center, the “Tara Trabaho, G?” Mega Job Fair featured 2,163 local vacancies and 980 overseas positions.

Among those who attended was 23-year-old Marjo Antonio of San Fernando, who initially went to the event hoping to find an employment opportunity. He was ultimately hired on the spot.

“Salamat po sa ganitong oportunidad sa aming mga Kapampangan. Makatutulong na ako sa pamilya ko,” Antonio said.

The overseas opportunities included positions in Japan, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, the United States, Nigeria, Qatar, New Zealand, Australia, Guam and Taiwan.

The event was led by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region III in partnership with the Office of Senate President Sherwin “Win” Gatchalian.

Organizers said the initiative was aimed at bringing employment opportunities and government services closer to Filipino job seekers.

Among those who attended and supported the event were DOLE Region III Regional Director Atty. Sarah Buena S. Mirasol, Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Region III Regional Director Atty. Marion Sevilla, Assistant Regional Director Alex Cruz, Pampanga 1st District Board Members Cherry Manalo and Christian Halili, and Pampanga PESO Manager Luningning Vergara.

Various government agencies and service partners also participated, providing one-stop government services to job seekers during the event.

The mega job fair was co-organized by the Provincial Government of Pampanga under Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda, together with partner agencies and stakeholders.

The event highlighted the continued effort of government agencies and local partners to connect job seekers with both local and international employment opportunities.
